All subscriptions are available as gift subscriptions too, for anyone you deem deserving of the highest quality proteins to enjoy at home. Just use the section of receiving address to indicate where this subscription is being shipped as well as the ability to write a gift note included in the package.

Once your packages are assembled, they’re shipped off to you, only to arrive within two days (of shipping date) to ensure the freshest quality. You’ll get to choose from a wide variety of Prime beef, fresh Sea food, free-range poultry, Wagyu cuts, premium pork and so much more.

Signing up for our monthly protein subscription service is very easy. All you need to do is choose the items you would like to include in your subscription by pressing the “subscribe & save 10%” option on each and every product throughout the site. Once you have checked out with All items selected for a subscription (subscribe & save) your order will process regularly and shipped immediately with your 10% savings automatically included. Bulk items (over 5lbs) can only be checked out as a subscription monthly order and cannot be added to a regular cart.

The next order will be processed exactly a month later sending you the items you have selected the previous time, again, with the 10% savings. For all on-going shipments, You will be charged when we send the product out to you.

Why is it so important that our meats are delivered fresh?

You have no way to know how long a frozen piece has been waiting to be thawed. Many supermarkets can have pieces frozen for months and they can still be sold and eaten.

  • Flavor can disappear over time, believe it or not. All the meat’s original flavors and smells have been washed out or escaped from being frozen over time.
  • Fresh meat cooks better, looks better and tastes better. And we like to provide meats that are just plain better.

How do we guarantee our meat is fresh?

  • We purchase our meats from family farms fresh and not frozen.
    When you order, your order is produced by our butchers and sent out as soon as possible, not wasting any time.
  • We ship our meats in our innovative packaging which keeps your proteins cooled at refrigerated temperatures, not frozen in dry ice as has been the standard in the past.
  • We ship our meats via FedEx Overnight services to ensure it arrives on your doorstep at the peak of freshness, within 48 hours of shipping your order.
  • If you do wish to freeze your meats after receiving them, our meats are already individually packed in cryovac and we have plenty of information on our website about the correct way to handle freezing. (We ship 90% of our products fresh aside from shellfish and Japanese wagyu for safety issues)

Storage Tips

BEEF

All of our protein products come fresh and ready to prepare. Each piece is vacuum packed in Cryovac, a superior packaging process that removes air from the container. Each product is shipped directly to you in peak condition.

You can safely store fresh meat products in the bottom shelf of your refrigerator for 5-6 days (keep the temperature between 32 and 40 degrees Fahrenheit).

You can freeze meat if you won’t be cooking it within 5-6 days.  Our fresh meats are sealed in Cryovac, which means you can put them directly in the freezer.  If you need to freeze unwrapped meat, tightly wrap and seal your meat in wax-coated butcher or freezer paper and tape it shut.  Cover this with an airtight layer of aluminum foil.

The safest method to thaw meat, is overnight in your refrigerator.

You can also thaw meat on the countertop for a few hours. Never thaw your meat in a microwave.

You can safely freeze uncooked steaks for 4 months, ground meats for 2 months and chops for 4 months.

A very bright red color indicates that the meat is very fresh. It will not be as tender as meat that has had time for the muscle to break down and soften. Some bright red meat you see in the supermarket may have additional red dyes added to make it appear fresh. Dry aged beef is always brown, and features a very rich flavor and buttery, velvet-like texture.

Brown beef is perfectly fine to eat and in fact, many meat connoisseurs prefer the taste of aged, brown beef. If you suspect the beef may be too old, smell it  – you will be able to tell right away if the meat is past its prime.

 

POULTRY

All of our protein products come fresh and ready to prepare. Each piece is vacuum packed in Cryovac, a superior packaging process that removes air from the container. Each product is shipped directly to you in peak condition.

You can safely store fresh poultry products in the bottom shelf of your refrigerator for 5-6 days (keep the temperature between 32 and 40 degrees Fahrenheit).

You can safely store fresh pork products in the bottom shelf of your refrigerator for 5-6 days (keep the temperature between 32 and 40 degrees Fahrenheit).

You can freeze pork if you won’t be cooking it within 5-6 days.  Our fresh meats are sealed in CVP, which means you can put them directly in the freezer.  If you need to freeze unwrapped pork, tightly wrap and seal your pork in wax-coated butcher or freezer paper and tape it shut.  Cover this with an airtight layer of aluminum foil.

You can safely store fresh seafood products in the bottom shelf of your refrigerator for 2-3 days (keep the temperature between 32 and 40 degrees Fahrenheit).

You can freeze seafood if you won’t be cooking it within 2-3 days.  Our fresh meats are sealed in Cryovac, which means you can put them directly in the freezer.  If you need to freeze unwrapped seafood, tightly wrap and seal your seafood in wax-coated butcher or freezer paper and tape it shut.  Cover this with an airtight layer of aluminum foil.

You can safely freeze uncooked Lean or White Fish (cod, sole) for 4 months, and fatty fish (salmon, trout) for 2 months.

The safest method to thaw seafood, is overnight in your refrigerator.

You can also thaw seafood on the countertop for a few hours. Never thaw your seafood in a microwave.

Our Sources

Where do you get your meat from?

We source all our proteins from Premier Meat Company, a leading supplier in the food industry, serving high end restaurants in Southern California and Vegas for decades.

Is your meat sustainable?

Yes! We source exclusively from family farms and ranches with high standards of sustainability.

Do you carry Halal?

We do not stock Halal products, we can, however, place a special order for them. This would cost a nominal fee and add time to your estimated delivery date.

Is your chicken organic?

All chicken cuts in our store are Petaluma Poultry’s free-range chicken. They were never given antibiotics, hormones or steroids. They were fed a 100% vegetarian diet and are a Non-GMO Project Verified product. Petaluma also offers USDA certified organic chicken. The difference between their organic chickens and the chicken we offer is that the food they were fed was organic. Both were raised on sustainable family-owned farms, air chilled and fed a natural diet. The reason we offer their free-range chicken and not their organic chicken is that our company also serves to restaurants who do not have a high demand for organic chicken products.

Storing and Preparing Meat

How long can I store your products in the refrigerator and the Freezer?

All of our products are individually Cryo-packed to ensure top freshness for each protein .

All Fresh Beef products can be safely stored in your refrigerator for up to 10 days.

All Frozen Beef products can be safely stored in your freezer for up to 2 months.

All Lamb And Pork products can be safely stored in your refrigerator for up to 7 days.

All Frozen Pork products can be safely stored in your freezer for up to 2 months.

All Fresh Poultry products can be safely stored in your refrigerator for up to 5 days.

All Frozen Poultry products can be safely stored in your freezer for up to 2 months.

All Fresh Seafood products can be safely stored in your refrigerator for up to 3 days.

All Frozen Seafood products can be safely stored in your freezer for up to 2 months.

All proteins will have a distinct smell if not Appropriate for consumption.

All Proteins Should not be frozen for over 2 months.

You need to closely monitor frozen meats for spoilage. You can’t leave them in the freezer too long or they become watery, limp, and tasteless, as you’ve probably experienced, that’s the dreaded “freezer burn” which makes meats taste bland and unappetizing.

Shipping Information

Is it safe to ship meats fresh?

Yes. Meat The Butcher’s spent two years developing the technology that will keep meat at safe temperatures without using dry ice. Our innovative insulated boxes keep in the cold and keep out the heat for up to 72 hours.

How long does it take my order to get to me?

We ship orders Monday-Wednesday using Fed Ex. Please allow up to 48 hours for your order to be processed.

I came home and my box was waiting on my doorstep. Is it still safe to eat?

Absolutely. Our packaging allows the meats to stay at cool temperatures for up to 72 hours, keeping them fresh the entire way.

Do you deliver to my zip code?

We deliver to all homes within the continental United States.
